From Victoria Ferry
Port Renfrew is a scenic 2 hour drive from Victoria,
and about 2.5 hours from the ferry. The highway is paved, and there
are beautiful ocean glimpses all along the way. You can see the
silhouette of the Olympic Mountains fade into the horizon.
From the ferry terminal in Swartz Bay (Victoria) head down the Pat
Bay Highway towards Victoria for about 20 minutes. Take the exit
onto Highway 1 and head towards Nanaimo until you reach Exit 14,
towards Sooke and Port Renfrew. This should be about 10-15 minutes.
Highway 14 will take you right into Port Renfrew, winding its way
up the West Coast, through the quaint town of Sooke and the small
community of Jordan River. It is recommended to have a full tank
of gas before you leave Sooke.
From Downtown Victoria
From downtown Victoria, follow Douglas Street, which turns into
Highway 1. Once on Highway 1, follow directions above.
From Duncan via Lake Cowichan

to Port Renfrew. Travel time is about 2.25 hours. The road is presently
being upgraded and widened, completion of the upgrade is expected
to be fall 2005.
